Q1. What is the objective of this competition?

Ans. The competition aims to raise awareness about energy conservation and promote sustainable practices among students. It leverages the creativity of children to spread the message of efficient energy use through art. 

Q2. Who can participate in the competition?

Ans. All students studying in Classes 5th to 10th from schools/institutions recognized by central or state education boards in India can participate.

• Group A: Classes 5, 6, and 7
• Group B: Classes 8, 9, and 10

Q3. Is there any registration required to participate?

Ans. Yes. Schools must register on the BEE portal: www.paintings.beeindia.gov.in. 

Q4. What are the levels of the competition?

Ans. The competition is conducted in three stages:

1. School Level
2. State/UT Level
3. National Level

Q5. Can a student who won a prize in earlier years participate again?

Ans.

• Students who won 1st, 2nd, or 3rd prize in 2022, 2023, or 2024 at the State or National Level in the same group are not eligible.
• However, if they move from Group A to Group B, they may participate again.

Q6. What themes or topics should the painting be based on?

Ans.

• Topics for the respective year will be related to energy conservation.  

Q7. What materials are allowed for painting?

Ans. 

• Pencil
• Colour Pencil
• Crayon
• Water Colour

Note: For State and National levels, paper and some basic materials will be provided at the venue. 

Q8. What are the evaluation criteria for judging paintings?

Ans.

Q9. Are there any restrictions on what can be included in the painting?

Ans. Yes. Depicting religious figures is strictly prohibited. Violations will lead to disqualification.      

Q10. What are the prizes at the National Level?

Ans. Group A and Group B (Each):

Additional rewards may include medals, laptops/tablets, and a study tour in India along with their two parents / one Guardian.

Q11. Do participants get certificates?

Ans.

• Yes, all State/UT and National Level participants receive bilingual certificates.

    * No certificates are issued at the School Level.

Q12. Who bears the travel and accommodation expenses?

Ans.

• State-Level: Parents/Guardians manage travel. Students may receive reimbursement and a participation award.
• National-Level: All travel, accommodation, meals, and local sightseeing are arranged and paid for by the designated CPSUs.

Q13. Can a school participate in both groups (A & B)?

Ans. Yes. Schools can choose to participate in either or both groups. They must submit two best paintings from each group.

Q15. What happens if a student copies or repeats a painting at the National Level?

Ans. Any repetitive or duplicate painting will be disqualified from the competition.

Q16. What details must be written on the back of each painting?

Ans. At each level, students must clearly write:

• Name of student
• Class/Standard
• Group (A or B)
• Acknowledgement Number
• School name and complete address
• Name and contact number of school official
• Parent/Guardian’s name and contact number
• Drawing Sheet Serial No. (State/National Level)
• Signature of Nodal Officer (State Level) / Coordinator (National Level)
